Why BUMS

Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery (BUMS) is an undergraduate medical degree in the field of Unani Medicine and Surgery. BUMS is a degree that is considered completed in 5.5 years which involves 4.5 years of main course classes and a 1-year internship. BUMS education and training in India are regulated by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), which is a statutory body under the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH). As per the official notification by CCIM, there are 1,706 seats for BUMS across the country. Aspiring candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria of BUMS. The admissions to the course are done through NEET.

 

        It is a 5.5-year undergraduate degree course that includes the application of the Unani system and medical knowledge. BUMS (Unani) is different from BAMS (Ayurveda). Unani system of medicine has existed for a long time in this world and is still dominant.

Age limit

Minimum 17 years of age on December 31 of the application year.

 

Qualifying Exam

Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as the core subjects.



Qualifying Exam Marks

All General category candidates must have at least 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination.



Reserved category candidates must have at least 40% marks.

Qualifying Entrance Exam

Candidates must have a valid NEET scorecard
