Mechatronics

Why Mechatronics

M.Tech (Mechatronics) or Master of Technology Mechatronics is a Post-Graduate Information Technology programme. Mechatronics is designed to provide students with a formal qualification in engineering at the master’s level. Mechatronic engineers blend the disciplines of mechanical engineering, computing and electronics to create a huge range of products.

The course emphasizes industry interaction, featuring guest lecturers in the areas of project management, intellectual property, ethics and patenting. In their final year, students undertake an industrial design project in which they can apply their technical knowledge and research skills, using state-of-the-art facilities. Mechatronics is the synergistic combination of precision mechanical engineering, electronic control and systems thinking in the design of products and manufacturing processes. It relates to the design of systems, devices and products aimed at achieving an optimal balance between basic mechanical structure and its overall control.

Why Study M.Tech in Mechatronics?

  • The course teaches them to design, construct and run factory production lines and automated processes, where they use their skills in computers, micro-controllers, programmable logic controllers, programming, industrial sensors, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric drives, the design of mechanical structures and mechanisms and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • A degree in mechatronics offers graduates a lot of opportunities in companies that use advanced automation equipment and computer integrated manufacturing systems.
  • Subfields of robotics are new which are expected to generate a lot of employment opportunities in the future. As mechatronics is multidisciplinary, mechatronics graduates are required almost everywhere.
  • Mechatronics engineers can solve a wide range of mechanical, electrical and software problems after passing the course.

Scope of the Course:

  • The course teaches them to design, construct and run factory production lines and automated processes, where they use their skills in computers, micro-controllers, programmable logic controllers, programming, industrial sensors, hydraulic, pneumatic and electric drives, the design of mechanical structures and mechanisms and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Graduates have a lot of job opportunities with companies that use advanced automation equipment and computer integrated manufacturing systems, in the private and public sector, in fields such as aerospace and advanced manufacturing.
  • Mechatronic engineers can solve a wide range of mechanical, electrical and software problems after passing the course.
