JEE Main 2018: Joint Entrance exam is one of the toughest engineering entrances of India. Central board of secondary education (CBSE) takes JEE to distribute seats among engineering aspirants. Candidates can get admission into B.E / B.Tech and B.Arch by appearing in National level examination.

Apply for JEE Main 2018

JEE Main 2018JEE is two stage exam, which is known as Mains and JEE Advance. If candidate can clear both exams then he is eligible to get admission into IIT. Aspirant can get admission into NIT, government and other private colleges after clearing Mains entrance test and it is also entrance test for JEE Advance.

According to announcement made by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, It might be possible that National Testing service will take Joint entrance exam (Mains & Advance) instead of CBSE.

JEE Main Application Form 2018

JEE Main 2018 Application form will be available from 1st week of December 2017. Candidates have to fill online application form through official website. CBSE board will not accept offline forms. Candidates are also advised to check eligibility criteria and other details. Applicants can also get all relevant information from our blog.

 

  • After the successful application aspirants have to pay fees via online mode. Board will not accept offline payments via bank challan.
  • Applicant can pay fees via Credit card, debit card, net banking is
  • Web portal will generate payment receipt after successful payment.
  • Candidate will need Aadhar card at the time of registration.

JEE Main 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Age Details

DOB: applicant can make online application if he/she born on or after 1st October 1993.

Age Relaxation: SC / ST and PWD students are eligible to get 5 years of age relaxation. They can apply if the born on or after 1st October 1988.

  • Note: Candidate has to produce certificate for age relaxation.

Qualification: 12th science candidates with PCM Subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) can apply for the exam.

  • Note:
    • Candidate has to pass 12th science exam.
    • Minimum marks are not required.
    • 2016 and 2017 passed out students are eligible for the exam.
    • Diploma holder can apply for JEE Main and eligible to get admission into government or private college, however they cannot appear for JEE Advance 2018.

 

Attempt

Candidate will get 3 attempts of JEE Main and 2 attempts of JEE Advance (in consecutive years).  Attempts will be counted from 2017 onwards.

IITs, NITs and CFTI’s Admission criteria

75% marks in 12th Science with PCM Subjects or candidates marks should be in top 20 percentile in his education boards.

Important Points

JEE MAIN Paper–1 for B.E / B.Tech students

  • Candidate should apply for Paper-1 if he/she wanted to get admission into B.E / B.Tech.
  • Aspirant can either choose online mode( Computer based test – CBT) or offline mode ( pen based test – PBT)
  • PCM Subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics ) will be covered in Paper-1
  • CBSE will ask MCQ Question (Multiple choice questions).
  • Applicant has to solve 90 questions (360 marks).
  • Question paper will be either in Hindi or English.
  • Students from Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli will have option to choose Gujarati language as option.
  • Candidate has to choose exam language at the time of online application.
  • Board will give 180 Minutes to solve the paper.
  • Correct answer will give you +4 marks and wrong answer will give you penalty of – 1 marks.

JEE Main 2018 paper-2 for B.Arch students

  • Candidate should apply for Paper-2 if he/she wanted to get admission into B.Arch.
  • Candidate will have to write exam in offline mode ( pen based test – PBT).
  • PCM Subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics ) will be covered in Paper-1
  • CBSE will ask MCQ Question (Multiple choice questions).
  • Applicant has to solve 82 questions (390 marks).
    • Mathematics (Part-1): 30 Questions
    • aptitude test (Part-2): 50 Questions
    • Drawing: 2 Questions
  • Question paper will be either in Hindi or English.
  • Students from Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli will have option to choose Gujarati language as option.
  • Board will give 3 hours to solve the paper.
  • Correct answer will give you +4 marks and wrong answer will give you penalty of – 1 marks.

 JEE Main 2018 Syllabus

Paper-1: CBSE will ask questions form PCM (physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) subjects. Exam syllabus for Paper-1 and paer-2 will be different. So make sure that you wanted to appear for JEE Main 2018 paper-1 or 2.  Generally questions will be based on 11th & 12th standard.

Paper-2: Syllabus is available on official website of CBSE. Candidate has to appear questions of Mathematics, Aptitude test and drawing.

 

JEE Main 2018 Answer Key

Candidate can download JEE Main 2018 Unofficial Answer key after the examination. CBSE board will declare JEE Main 2018 official answer key on their web portal. Applicant can download paper solution and compare their questions. Moreover answer key will be available as per the Actual SET.

CBSE will give time to challenge the answer key. If any candidate found mistake in answer key then he can challenge in given time period by paying 1000 INR. Applicant has to submit right answer along with payment challan by post at Board HO.

JEE Main 2018 Result

JEE Main result is expected in April 2018. Applicant have to login on official website to check score card and rank.  As per the new rule rank will be calculated on JEE Main 2018 Score only, 12th marks will not be considered. Board will start cancelling round right after the result. Seats will be allocated purely on the basis of rank obtained. Board will declare JEE advance 2018 eligibility along with mains result.

JEE Main 2018 Cut-Off marks

  • Every institute will have different cut off marks, so candidates need to have rank higher than his desired college.
  • Cut off will be declared after JEE Main 2018 result.
  • Candidate can predict cut off for particular college by comparing 2017 cut off.
  • Cut off of premier institute will be higher than normal college.

General cut off

  • Open: 105 marks
  • OBC: 70 marks
  • SC: 50 marks
  • ST: 44 Marks

 

JEE Main 2018 Counselling procedure

CBSE will distribute seats on the basis of Rank achieved in JEE Main 2018. It is expected that counseling will start from 1st week of July 2018. CSAB and JoSAA will handle counseling process and they will hold 4 rounds, where 1st, 2nd and 3rd round will be handled by JoSAA and 4th round will be taken care by CSAB. Moreover JEE Advance 2018 form will be started by the board along with Counseling process. Hence eligible candidate can also apply for Advance exam.
