Management or Master of Technology in
Infrastructure Engineering and Management is a two-year postgraduate Structural Engineering program.
The program lays emphasis on construction/ infrastructure engineering in terms
of designing, planning and environmental management of large buildings,
townships, roads and bridges, transportation engineering and other
infrastructure projects. After its completion, they have many options in
various fields. The course focuses on both the technical and non-technical
aspects of civil engineering objects and systems. The course helps to explore and
concentrate on one area of civil engineering such as structures, construction
engineering and management, transportation, water resources, geotechnical and
environmental engineering. Construction Engineering and Management is a
professional discipline that deals with the designing, planning, construction,
and management of infrastructures such as highways, bridges, airports,
railroads, buildings, dams, and utilities.

Scope of the Course:
Initially, you can work as an assistant project manager
mainly in a smaller scale infrastructure project.
With experience and know-how of construction project
management you can become a project manager.
Apart from this, an infrastructure engineer can assist
in implementation of any minor/major infrastructure project like bridge, sewer
line, public transport, residential and commercial buildings etc.
The assisting can be in the form of technology
implementation, site handling, material and manpower handling, tendering, and
contracts etc.
Another scope if apply for Govt.jobs where you start as
a civil/infrastructure engineer and then you can take a leap to executive
engineer and posts above it.
