B.Tech - Aeronautical Engineering (AE)

Why B.Tech - Aeronautical Engineering (AE)

What is Aeronautical Engineering?

B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering is a 4-year undergraduate Aerospace engineering course. Minimum Eligibility for which is 10+2 examination with science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Aerospace engineering manages the plan, design, development, and investigation of the science behind the powers and physical properties of rockets, aircraft, flying crafts, and shuttle. The endorsed courses of study and syllabi cover zones like design, plan, structures, impetus, aerodynamics, streamlined features and frameworks. The labs and workshops, point by point in the educational programs, have been confined to take up the difficulties in Industry and concentrate on research and development. The understudy approaches the most recent adaptations of numerous analysis and design packages.

Why Study B.Tech Aeronautical Engineering?

Humans have always considered flight to be the final frontier. We have always been amazed by the bird’s ability to fly. Thus, we with our intellect have overcome our limitations and learned the knowledge of flight. Aeronautical Engineering deals with the principles for aircraft and spacecraft. It includes the study of aircraft and spacecraft designs so that learners can learn how to build and repair crafts.

B.Tech Aeronautical Engineering Specialisations

There are many subjects under Aeronautical Engineering that are very important and act as specialization subjects. Some of the subjects are mentioned below:

Specialization

Description

Electronic Systems

Modern aerospace systems are set to rely even more heavily on electronic systems in the future, as autonomous unmanned flying vehicles, the development of electric aircraft, and the increased use of GPS to enhance flight efficiency and safety, increase society's dependence on electronics.

Aerospace Propulsion

Propulsion involves the study of the basic operation and design of aerospace propulsion devices, including both air-breathing engines and rocket power plants. Engine components such as inlets, pumps, and/or compressors, combustion chambers, turbines, and nozzles are also included.

Aerodynamics and Fluid Dynamics

Aerodynamics, a branch of physics that deals with the motion of air and other gaseous fluids and with the forces acting on bodies passing through such a fluid. Aerodynamics seeks, in particular, to explain the principles governing the flight of aircraft, rockets, and missiles

Instrumentation And Communication

Instrumentation engineers are expected to work with data acquisition and sensor systems, Calibrating and Maintenance of the equipment etc. There might be various measurement systems in the avionics industry, the primary variables being velocity, length, torque etc.

Navigational Guidance and Control Systems

Guidance, navigation and control is a branch of engineering dealing with the design of systems to control the movement of vehicles, especially, automobiles, ships, aircraft, and spacecraft.

What is B.Tech Aeronautical Engineering Admission Process?

B.Tech Aeronautical Engineering admissions are done through entrance examination mode or direct admission through quota. The step-by-step process to get admitted through entrance examinations are given below.

Entrance Exam Based Admission

The most popular engineering entrance exams in the country are JEE Main and JEE Advanced, which are required for admission into primarily public universities. Private institutes also conduct their own examinations or rely on the national/ state level entrance exams. The guide to apply for entrance exam-based admission is as follows.

  • Registration Process: Registration dates are announced days before by the institute. An account needs to be created with basic details like email-id, phone number, etc.
  • Fill up details: Fill up the application form with all necessary details with care. Care must be taken to ensure all details are accurate and correct.
  • Document Submission: Scan and upload all required documents like mark sheets. Documents need to be uploaded in a specific format only, as specified by the institute’s application portal.
  • Application fee: A minimal application fee is to be paid online during the submission of the application form. Payment can be done by all online payment modes.
  • Download Admit Card: Admit cards are released once all applicants are judged for eligibility. The admit card must be downloaded and printed out to be used on the day of the examination.
  • Examination: Prepare for the exam as per the syllabus and past papers. Appear for the examination on the date announced.
  • Results: Results are announced after a couple of weeks of the exam day. If a candidate is successful in qualifying for the entrance examinations, they can move on to the next round.
Counseling and admission: Counselling is held for students who have cleared the entrance examinations. The student can now take admission in the BTech Aeronautical Engineering course.
